2019 Calendar of Events 
[Board meetings are the second Tuesdays at 7:15 PM at the Madison Historical Society in Madison, NY - open to the public.]

April 6, Saturday - 11:30 to 1:30 PM

Hamilton College student Intersociety Council will be doing trail maintenance
and working in the Madison Historical Society building helping organize historical artifacts.
Volunteers are welcome to help out.

April 20, Sunday - 11:00 to 2:00 PM
   (with snacks by CCA)

“Clean Sweep” trail cleanup days in coordination with the NYS program with Colgate students from COVE.  Volunteers are welcome to help out. CCA members will be available to discuss the history of the canal.

May 28, Monday - Memorial Day Parade

CCA will participate in the parade in period garb of the 19th century - join us.  Volunteers are welcome to help out.

June 3 - Path Through History Day

Living History and Tour of the Museum and Towpath Trail --10 am to 2pm, tours at 10, 11 12  1 -Carpool 3 miles for interpretive discussion of the former aqueduct over Oriskany Creek and Lock 76.

June 13, 6 PM - “History Where You Eat”

Madison County Historian Matthew Urtz & Solsville Hotel owner Brad Dixon will provide a FREE presentation about the history of hops in Madison County and a tour of the Hotel.    More details in Flyer =>

July 4- 4th of July Parade in Hamilton

Join us at 10 AM at the Hamilton Municipal Airport to march in the parade with us.

July TBD, Saturday - Earlville Day

Earlville Community Day - celebrate with us in this annual family event - games, displays, ice cream floats

October 1 - 31

Fall Decorative Lights on Towpath Trail - Visit the trail and enjoy the scene.


Annual meeting with the Madison Historical Society.  Entertainment

Trail Clean-up Days will be announced, pending weather. The Chenango Canal Association has worked with the Madison FFA, Hamilton FFA, Colgate University COVE, Hamilton College “Hamilton Serves” and other appreciated volunteers from the community. Look for the Trail Day signs on the Canal Corner in Bouckville on Rt. 20, announcements in the MidYork Weekly, Waterville Times, Oneida Daily Dispatch and at the area schools.
