2022 Calendar of Events:

We are back scheduling events for 2022.

Board meetings will continue as usual on the second Tuesdays at 7:15 PM in person at the Madison Historical Society Bukding in Madison - open to the public. 

April 23, Saturday - 10:00 to 2:00

April 24, Sunday - Noon to 3:00

“Clean Sweep” trail cleanup days.  Volunteers are welcome to help out. CCA members will be available to discuss the history of the canal.

April 28 - Thursday, 6:30 - 8:00 PM at the Hamilton Public Library Community Room

 “History As It Happened” is a collection of reports of events on the Chenango Canal published in newspapers at the time.  Open to the public.

 Sunday May 28, Noon to 3:00

Chenango Canal Trail Open House and living history demonstrations at several locations along the canal, starting at the Chenango Canal Cottage Museum

Fall Decorative Lights on Towpath Trail - Visit the trail and enjoy the scene.

Lights on the Canal

Trail Clean-up Days will be announced, pending weather. The Chenango Canal Association has worked with the Madison FFA, Hamilton FFA, Colgate University COVE, Hamilton College “Hamilton Serves” and other appreciated volunteers from the community. Look for announcements in the MidYork Weekly, Waterville Times, Oneida Daily Dispatch and at the area schools.
